As the school year comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to think about fine-tuning your teaching skills and planning for next year!  Below are professional development opportunities for those interested in learning more about gifted education. 

DISCOVER! June 25th- 28th (Indiana)

DISCOVER! is a high-quality summer institute in the Midwest for educators committed to gifted education and talent development that integrates components of learning, enjoyment, and relaxation in a collegial atmosphere. DISCOVER! promises to help educators effectively serve gifted and talented children, and to help educators discover and develop talents in all children. 

Registration Deadline: June 11th

Confratute
July 9th- 20th (Connecticut)

Confratute is a unique summer experience for educators and advocates interested in enrichment teaching and learning, talent development, and gifted education. Confratute combines the best aspects of a Conference, a Fraternity, and an Institute and features presentations by the nation’s best-known leaders in gifted education, talent development, curriculum differentiation, and creativity.

Registration Deadline: July 1st

Professional Summer Institute June 25th-27th (Virginia)

The purpose of this Institute is to provide teachers and administrators with the knowledge and skills to design and utilize high quality curriculum within effective programs for advanced learners. 

Registration Deadline: June 15th

The 21st International Conference on the Autonomous Learner Model for the Gifted
June 19th- 24th (Colorado)

This conference is designed for educators who seek a broad view of gifted education. Emphasis is on the major dimensions of the ALM. 

Registration Deadline: June 1st (Though this deadline is tomorrow, this is an annual conference.  Therefore, if you are not able to participate this year, check the website for the 2008 conference dates.)

The Gifted Nurturing Hearts Brains and Courage
July 13th- 15th (Kansas)

The 24th annual SENG Conference presents an unparalleled opportunity for teachers to learn about these keys to understanding and serving gifted children.
