Hey Prospective Students!
My name is Raghavi Anand. I’m 17 and a senior this year at The Davidson Academy. I started at the Academy as a sophomore and I can’t believe it’s already my third and final year! I’ve made some great memories along the way, thanks to the incredible teachers and the amazing opportunities that I’ve been able to access as an Academy student.
Surely, you’ve heard of the fantastic academics available at this school, and you’re ready to be challenged in your classes. One of the things I love about the Academy is how the staff is able to accommodate every student’s interests and needs. Due to the wonderful relationship that the Academy has with the University of Nevada Reno, every student can take classes at
the University geared toward their own tastes. Not only are these classes interesting, but they also give you a feel for the college environment, while even earning college credit.
Initially, one of my concerns was whether or not I’d fit in at the Academy. I understand that you might be worried about making friends. But, rest assured, there is someone who is bound to share the same interests as you. I originally attended school in Carson City, so it was difficult for me to leave all my old friends. But, I’ve made even more friends here - ones I know I’ll have for a long time.
So, prospective student, I encourage you to apply! It is one of the best academic decisions I’ve made, and I’m happy to know that I have such a solid foundation to lean back on once I begin college.
~ Raghavi Anand, Third Year Davidson Academy Student

Academy Student Participates in Summer Internship Academy student Dylan Bowman interned with
KRNV
News 4, Reno's NBC affiliate, this summer. He describes his experiences below.
"During my internship at KRNV News 4, I worked with local anchors and weather forecasters to learn about the production of a news broadcast. I wrote stories for the Noon and 5 o'clock newscast and put together a weather forecast. I attended the morning meeting with the news director, producers and anchors to discuss what would air on the broadcast that day.
During this experience I learned how to write a story for the news
as well as good work habits."

“One of the most unique traits about the Academy is the fact that the curriculum is molded superbly to match the interests and abilities of students . . . the staff and even fellow students are so ready and willing to make sure that you are able to pursue your interests and goals outside of what is taught in the classroom.”
