   Student to Student

Dear Prospective Davidson Academy Students,

I have been attending the Academy since its inception, but unlike many other students, I am originally from Reno. Long before I came to the Academy, it was my dream to find a school that would challenge me and allow me to reach my full potential. In fact, by the time I was in middle school, my family and I were willing to move to another state in search of such a school. But thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Davidson, whose vision made this dream a reality, I was able to explore this completely new opportunity that I had once merely dreamt about. My decision to attend the Academy has created a new chapter in my life - one filled with exciting opportunities, a fulfilling academic and social environment, and friends that I hope to be in contact with for a long time. My decision to attend the Academy is the best decision I have made thus far. The Academy is definitely the place to be.

Students are offered a one-of-a-kind opportunity, allowing them to take challenging classes not only at the Academy, but also at the University of Nevada, Reno. For me, this combination allows me to gain valuable skills that I can refer to when I attend college in the near future, while still allowing me to experience the joys of high school. As the saying goes, “The sky is the limit” as far as what you can truly achieve at this unique school. In addition, everyone is immersed in a unique social environment that allows them to interact with peers of similar age and intellect.

Though it may be difficult to make a decision to attend here, I encourage you to see yourself at the Academy and compare it to your previous experiences, and make a decision that you can look back on without regret. I know my decision to attend this school positively impacted my life, and I have never felt as happy and satisfied. With that said, I look forward to seeing you at the Academy soon!

"I found that the presence of The Davidson Academy on the University of Nevada, Reno campus made it a lot easier to get into upper level college courses when I was ready and allowed me to take advantage of opportunities I wouldn't have had otherwise.
It was also nice to be part of a network of students and their parents
who had similar problems and interests as me and my family."
